Temperatures are rising, and tick season is beginning. Ticks generally become active when temperatures consistently exceed 7 degrees Celsius, but geographical location, climate, and weather also play a major role.
Ticks often seek out dogs, cats, or even humans as hosts to attach themselves to. What makes ticks so dangerous is their role as carriers of pathogens such as bacteria or viruses. There are many different types of ticks and also many different diseases that they can carry. One of the most common diseases caused by tick bites is Lyme disease or anaplasmosis.
We all love long walks through the woods, playing and romping in the meadows with our four-legged friends. But often we can't enjoy these moments completely carefree, as there's always the fear of possible tick bites.
