Our raw materials are our most valuable asset. They are crucial for a species-appropriate and balanced diet for our animals. Therefore, you will only find raw materials in our products that are truly useful and beneficial. No! We offer you excellent, natural food at a fair price. However, our food is still more expensive than food you can buy in retail stores. And there are very good reasons for that.
To understand this, it is important to know how the price of feed is made up.
From the price, you first have to deduct 19% VAT, as well as about 50% for the respective manufacturer, who uses this to cover their expenses and staff costs. About 5% of the price goes towards logistics, and another 5% for packaging. The packaging for our products is a bit more expensive because it is important to us that we do not opt for the cheapest packaging, but rather for sustainable solutions. These are not only good for you and your animals, but also for the environment and can sometimes cost a bit more. That leaves about 20% of the price for raw materials. For feed that costs €2.30 per kilo, about €0.46 is used to purchase raw materials. How much meat do you get for €0.46 if you want to buy it from the butcher? Not much. And so cheap feed often contains cheap ingredients so that we can offer you this price.
Our wet food consists of at least 60% real meat – that's why it tastes so good for your furry friends. We use all other ingredients (vegetables, herbs, and natural supplements) to ensure your pet receives optimal nutrition. Not to make our food cheaper. We do this because we know how important it is to you to provide optimal nutrition for your pets. And because your furry friends are just as important to us.
