AniForte® Grass Mite EX Spray is used to repel and prevent grass mites. It is composed of a balanced combination of essential oils and geraniol and offers effective support against these annoying parasites.
AniForte® Grass Mite-EX Spray is primarily a repellent for repelling and preventing grass mites in your dog. Grass mites, also known as autumn mites, are known for their bites, which can leave hives on the skin and cause intense itching. The essential oils contained in it can also soothe the affected skin areas.
Like ticks, grass mites belong to the arachnid family. In Germany, they are found from April to the end of October, depending on the weather. However, due to the generally warmer winters, the mites can also appear outside of their normal season.
Adult grass mites have eight legs, as is typical for arachnids. Larvae, in contrast, have only six. These are less than a millimeter in size and are even harder to detect than adult grass mites, which are about two millimeters in size. These are precisely the ones that can infest your dog because they require the lymph and cell fluids of animals for their development.
The mites' eggs are laid in the grass, and after about four weeks, the larvae hatch. These prefer tall grass blades because they can easily bite into the paws, legs, and stomachs of passing animals, where the skin is very thin. They typically infest cats, dogs, birds, mice, and horses. Grass mite larvae then use their mouthparts to bite into the skin and suck blood from the animal. Once they have sucked enough blood, they fall off on their own. To prevent such an infestation, we recommend using our mite spray for dogs.
The good news is that, unlike fleas, grass mites cannot infest multiple animals. Therefore, transmission of the pests from animal to animal is not possible. However, humans can also be infected if they walk through tall grass, where the grass mite larvae lurk.
When they pierce the skin, the grass mite larvae release their saliva into the host. This can cause rashes, reddened skin, itching, and inflammation. If your dog is increasingly scratching and licking its entire body, this could be a sign of a mite infestation. The first symptoms can appear after just a few hours. The itching usually reaches its peak after two or three applications, but in some cases it can last up to two weeks. The AniForte® Mite Spray for Dogs provides targeted relief from these symptoms and supports skin regeneration.
If you want to reduce a grass mite infestation on your dog, the Mite Spray for Dogs is ideal. It offers effective support against these annoying pests thanks to a combination of essential oils and geraniol. These have a soothing effect on the affected skin areas if grass mite larvae are already present.
We also offer various products for other mite species, such as ear mite oil , to support your pet's health. If you have any questions about our product or the treatment of a grass mite infestation, please feel free to contact us!
