Psyllium husks are the husks of the plantain plant. They are known for their enormous swelling power and water-binding capacity – the husks can absorb many times their own weight in water. The higher the purity, the better the swelling properties of the psyllium husks. The high purity and quality of our premium psyllium husks result in a high swelling index of 67 ml/g.
The high crude fiber content also stimulates the activity of the gastrointestinal tract and can support intestinal activity. Psyllium husks can help dogs and cats with diarrhea by absorbing excess water and significantly prolonging gastric emptying.

Psyllium husks are, of course, also suitable for horses. Due to the higher feeding requirements, we also have our own version: Psyllium husks for horses .
Horse (approx. 500 kg): 30 g daily
Pony & small horse: 15 g daily
(30 g corresponds to 70 ml in the measuring cup)
Allow the psyllium husks to swell in approx. 500 ml of hot water for at least 20 minutes and mix them into the well-soaked hay cobs or mash.
Dogs up to 10 kg: 1/4 teaspoon daily
Dogs over 10 kg: 1/2 teaspoon daily
Allow the psyllium husks to swell in 15 ml of hot water for at least 20 minutes and mix them into the food.
Cats: 1/4 teaspoon daily
Allow the psyllium husks to swell in 10 ml of hot water for at least 20 minutes and mix them into the food.
Always soak the psyllium husks and ensure sufficient water is available.
Note: Store in a cool, dry place, protected from light.
